オスカーをとったこともあるHolly Hunter （ホリー・ハンター）がテレビドラマに出ている人は多いと思います。あのHolly Hunterがドラマに出るってすごいなぁ~と思いつつ、ドラマはあまり見ていません（笑）・・・ちょっと前からかっちょええなぁ～と思いながらこのCMを見ていました。
ホリー・ハンターが”Let’s Roll!”と言って歌が始まるのですが、そこがメチャクチャかっこいい。残念ながら 探しても「Let’s Roll！」が見つかりません。しかし、歌を見つけました。かっこいい！と思う方は英語で覚えてみるのも英語上達の秘訣です。

非常に美しい歌です。女性はこのようなことを言われるとうれしいのでしょうね。日本語だとどうしても恥ずかしくて言えなくなる言葉。そんな思いをこの歌で彼女に告げるのはどうでしょうか？
さて、この『You’re Beautiful ユア・ビューティフル』は、実は2005年の歌なんですね。2006年には、アメリカのビルボードHOT100において、イギリス人としては、あのエルトン・ジョン以来の1位を獲得。当然のごとく、イギリス、ヨーロッパ諸国1位を獲得し、イギリスのBRIT Awards、2冠。そして、 2006年度 Grammy Awards （グラミー賞）にノミネートされました。
1974年2月22日生まれの、James Blunt （ジェームス・ブラント）は、イングランドウィルトシャー出身で、ギリス陸軍の近衛騎兵連隊に所属した元軍人だそうです。キャプテン（大尉）のランクまで昇格し、NATO平和維持部隊として紛争地帯のコソボにも赴いた経験があるというつわものです。

この曲を知っている人も多いのではないでしょうか？1997年に爆発的ヒットになったAqua(アクア）の「Barbie Girl」。ノリが非常に良く、リズミカルな曲に加え、バービー人形がもしも人間だったら、おそらくこんな生活なんだろうなぁ～と想像をかき立てられる曲です。また、このMTVはコミカルで私はとても好きです。
さて、このAquaですが、スカンディナヴィア（デンマーク）のポップスグループなんですね。とても英語の発音がよいので、イギリス系のバンドかと思いきや、実はデンマークだった。いや、本当に驚かされます。英語ができると言うことは本当に強みになりますね。だって、イギリスのシングルチャートでは今までにもわずかなアーティストしか達成出来なかったファーストシングル1位を達成したんですから。
残念ながら2001年7月に分裂してしまいましたが、アルバム､『Aquarium』(1997年)､『Aquarius』(2000年)をリリース。アルバムとシングルを合わせて約2800万枚のセールスを達成したのですから、まさに、流星のごとく現れて、音楽界にドカーンと衝撃を与えた、伝説のグループになりました。

・ レネー・ディフ（Rene Dif）
・ ソレン・ラステッド（Soren Rasted）
